Carolina Sophisticats is a Cat Fanciers' Associated club based in the Charlotte, NC area composed of breeders, exhibitors, fans & friends of, and those owned by, the feline.

Our club meets the third Tuesday of every month for dinner, conversation, and club business. We sometimes have programming that deals with cat-related issues, such as health, rescue, pet legislation, or topics related to particular breeds.

Our membership includes exhibitors (both new and longtime), breeders, owners (who we've talked into becoming exhibitors or who just love the breed they own and want to participate in a CFA club), and is open to anyone who applies in the approved manner.

The club puts on a CFA show each year the second week in February. The 2006 show was on Feb. 11-12 (click the link to see pictures). We are now planning our show for Feb. 9-10, 2008. Our show hall is the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, NC, located on Old Airport Road, just off Hwy. 49, north of Harrisburg. Show spectators saw 8 rings of judging, talked to the breeder/exhibitors of the over 350 cats present (over 40 recognized breeds in CFA), shopped with our vendors for cat jewelry, cat-themed clothing, cat furniture & toys, and cat grooming supplies.

The Carolina Sophisticats meet at various restaurants in the Charlotte area, dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the club business meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. For specifics, please contact Jean Brown at (704) 224-4472.

We are open to anyone who has an interest in cats, whether it is rescue work, Household Pets, or people who'd like to get involved in the cat fancy as an exhibitor or breeder. We'd love to see YOU at our next meeting!
